A decade ago, tattoos were mainly been associated with tough men. When people thought of tattoos, they often thought of bikers or rockers; people can hardly be blamed for such stereotypes, as that was what the media fed them.

Things have changed in the recent years. Now, tattoos are appreciated by many, and there is more variety in terms of people getting tattoos. Tattoos are no longer associated with just men, but many women now get tattooed. Even more refreshing is the fact that even those who call themselves girly also get tattoos; tattoos have been redefined, and now skin art can be feminine too. Not only has there been a difference in terms of gender of people getting tattooed, but there is diversity in the sense that tattoos are not restricted to rockers or bikers. There are professionals in business suits getting tattoos. This just goes to show that tattoos have transcended the supposed stereotypes of the past decade.
